Default Rev. dial on M50

I just swap for an M50 engine and I am having problems with my rev counter. It works for 1-2 min. after I start the engine and as the engine warms up it dies. If I turn off the engine and than I start it again the rev starts working but if the engine is hot only for a short while. I think it's cable or a bad sensor somewhere. Can you guys point out some sugestions or does anybody have some schematics so that I can properly diagnoze the problem my self.
