I can get you some info on the swap. Im currently doing the same thing. I have a 97Ti with a 92m50 Non-vanos. You snip about 4-6 wires and reroute like 2 or 3 of them, then get rid of all your OBDII stuff.

Youll be doing the same exact stuff as me, but using a red label 413 DME.

Blue- Doesn't Ohio have emissions testing? Or is that only in the major metro areas. I know some people that live in Cleveland and they have to do inspections.

We have very limited inspections, and thats only when you buy a car, other than that, there arent any here.

It rehashes itself, so dont get confused.

Cut #7 on X20 Main harness - Mine was Lime Green
Cut #8 on X20 Main harnees, attach to #1 on the X6031 harness - Forgot what color that was on my car, but it attaches to the Grey wire on the smaller connector.

Next steps are just for the X6031 Smaller Harness.

Wire #14, White and Black stripe must be connected to the Blue clipped harness behind the instrument cluster. All i did was run a wire from #2 wire on the Blue connector, for the cluster, to #14 on the X6031 harness. Not sure if i actually cut the line at #14, or just spliced it...im sure i cut and wired it to it.

Other than that, there are no other mods to the harness that i know of.

Excellent... I'll be starting my M50 swap soon, and this was a concern of mine. Thanks, fellas!

Are those the steps for modifying an OBD-II harness to work on an OBD-I engine? Or is it for modifying an OBD-I harness to work in an OBD-II chassis?

Regarding the last step for the road speed sensor, I am basically running a jumper from the cluster to pin #14. I am not to completely disconnect anything, right?

If im not mistaken, we just jumped this wire. If it needs to be cut and hardwired, its not difficult to do.
