Default so i pulled my turbo back to the drawing board.

def cant deal with how slow the car was. im thinking now ill throw on the 3.9 automatic diff, maybe cf hood and trunk i calculated it saves 53.5lbs idk how much benefit ill see from that. i also have been looking at the ltw d force wheels. running double spokes right now. switching to a 17" dforce i save 18.8lbs of rotational mass. My ac system has been pulled, and i will prob do a fan delete again as well as see if i can find an underdrive kit. any suggestions welcome. am i chasing a pipe dream? not looking for stupid power anymore just safe cheap stuff that will make it a little quicker. i plan to do everything at once so it feels more epic lol.

Yes. Do a motor swap or DASC.

motor swaps not happening. i just dropped a grand into getting another m42 in. dasc might be an option in the future, but im talking bout stuff that can be done relatively easily and cheaply.

Well, if you just want raw acceleration, go for the high ratio LSD, pull out your rear seats, get some grippy tires, and get a Dinan chip. Lightweight flywheel too.

Oh man grippy tires are amazing! How come your not going with the turbo anymore? Didn't you get it tuned to where you would like it?

I have removed a ton a things on my TI and every little bit helps. The rear seats, carpet and sunroof were some of the most noticeable performance gains. If you don't have an engine swap I would go with 16x7 Kosei K1s. believe it or not the these wheels fit over my M3 front calipers. A lightweight battery, aftermarket exhaust and the removal of the passenger seat are also good gains.

Having two TIs (one fully stripped and one with A/C and a stereo) with similar mods the difference is night and day. Acceleration is much more crisp, braking and turning is much better also. I will warn you that this is a slippery slop and once you remove the carpet alot of noise and heat will be introduced to the cabin. Let me know if you need and pics.

yeah the cars my dd so im being fairly conservative when it comes to removing luxuries. my cars too low to have people in the rear anyways so idc about that. but things like increasing cabin heat ontop of no ac is a problem lol. i also have to keep the windows and sunroof or id die from heat haha. I was looking at 17" ltw d forces their super light. i think 16" works better on a ti than an e36 4dr idk

what's the weight of the d-force 17 or kosei k1 wheels? how much does your current wheel set up weigh? I have 205-55-16 continentals on style 55 wheels and I find them much too heavy. just the wheel is like 21lbs. sick total is like 35lbs

the lightest I saw is style 34 15inch with 13.5lbs !! but I can't find them anywhere around here steelies are around 17lbs for 15inch

I put some honda vx 9.5lbs 13 inch on a 98 civic 3yrs ago instead of the 14 steels and was the best thing I could've done to the stock car. was a blast till it got stolen.

go with the lightest wheels/tires if you can . acceleration, cornering, braking. +++ and probably easier on your susp.
