Running a ghetto staggered setup Last night on the way to meet up with my business partner so we could go shoot some video at part, I hit some construction debris and sliced the sidewall of the rear passengeriside tyre. Unfortunatly that kind of damage is above and beyond the M Mobility kit and I do not have a spare tyre. So to meet up on time, I would up driving on the shoulder of the road for 5 miles on the flat tyre. By the time I got there, the bead on the inside (where the tyre was slit) had come away from the rest of the tyre. The tread folded over on itself and stuck out from the car by a foot.. but I made it with no damage to the car. The Bead held on the inside the car rode on that instead of on the aluminum of the DS2. So, we get done at 12:30 and he ran me home to get one of my spare rims/tyres from when I got the car. The old 15 inch 10 spoke rims. I put it on, get home at 4am, and crash till noon. Go out to the car to replace the o2 sensor.. and the front is flat too.. guess I got both tyres. So now I am running 205/65/15 no name tyres on the stock 15 inches ten spoke rims on the front and 235/40/17 Michelin Pilot Sports on the DS2 rims for the rear.. Ghetto staggard. Car handles REALLY weird now with a lot of understeer even when mildly turning.. but it will have to stay that way for the next two weeks or so until I can find time to get the two tyres replaced. |
