That blue ones, which are said to be urethane/polyester compound. I am strongly interested for this part. They are the only subframe bushings specific for the ti, all the other on the market are E30 parts that can be used to ti too. But i don't wanna use the E30 parts cause BMW has a different part number and design for the E30 and the 318ti. Any experience with these? __________________ Alpina front lip spoiler,ACS roof spoiler,OEM clear rear-side lights,In-Pro blackchrome front indicators,Lummar tinted glasses,318ti.org decalls,Eibach Sportline 45mm/30mm springs,Bilstein Sprint shocks,16mm rear sway bar, front eccentric wishbone bushes,E46 conv. What is it you think is bad about the bushings fitting two cars? Your already messing with the design by using a bushing thats harder than the BMW piece. The important thing about bushings is that they fit and that the durometer of the material meets your needs. I'm not wild about the polyurethane. I've gotten used to it but found the rear to be more twitchy. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti 2003 MINI Cooper S 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 10-09-2006, 01:32 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | I was gonna mess with these bushings when I put the rear camber kit in. I bought a set of those plastic inserts to fill the gaps of the bushings. My question is, what has to be done to get to those bushings? All I really need to do is slip the plastic inserts in from the top of the bushings. Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti If I had to do it again I would have stick with stock subframe bushings. A sawzall also helps. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti 2003 MINI Cooper S 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 10-09-2006, 01:49 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | I don't want to remove the bushing, just get above it to slide in the inserts. I guess I need to understand how to drop the frame to get above the bushings. Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti I've seen it done once. There is a tool you need to push the bushing out. The ebay auction say it takes this: Quote: EASY TO INSTALL! One hour, start-to-finish. Detailed instructions included. Just remove a cover, install the supports, and replace the cover. No special tools needed, no need to remove the bushings. You don't even have to remove the wheels. | __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 10-09-2006, 02:56 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | Post the link to that product. I've never raced or auto-x'd my car, so I may not be the best judge. One thing I did notice though is that you'll hear more drivetrain noise.
