Any Recommendations between the two would be great too. Any Help is awesome! If you can't find it locally, you can order it online or on fleabay... http://www.google.com/products?oe=UT...HT+nite+shades Tinting Film... http://www.lamin-x.com/ __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. I used it and by the end of the summer, it was not much darker than stock. I use film on my car.. just need to get the hairdryer out to make it fit perfect | | | 03-22-2009, 09:07 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Rocky Hill, CT Posts: 1,065 | Check out the thread I just posted, there's a couple shots of my TI with the tails tinted. VHT nightshades, 6 coats IIRC, no clear or anything. I don't like the shiny look, I'm more of a matte person. __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. Like said above, just make sure you stay consistent when spraying the VHT. and do LIGHT coats. Too heavy and it drips, and you've gotta sand and start over. Also, I read in one write-up to slightly dust the lights with black spraypaint or else the amber lights would look pink b/c the nightshades has a red tint to it. Don't do this, it just makes the lights look like S*** when they're on. I'll eventually get an example of this with my fogs on. Looks stupid, they're getting redone next time I'm home. __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. S50 cams+pistons, e36 M3 front brakes. H&R race springs F+R. As you can see if you look close, the passenger side didn't turn out as nice as the drivers side... I rushed that one. like budget said, no need to pre-spray with black paint... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. I used the ugly clears (same ones maverix had, that have been passed from person to person) to tint vs the stock ambers. This makes it so that my lights still light up amber because I put an amber bulb in place of the white, but there's still black around the light. Very different look that Wolfs. And for a third time: don't do the spray paint prior. Bad idea/suggestion by whoever I read that from. __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. S50 cams+pistons, e36 M3 front brakes. Just the turnsignals.. done with film. I would never tint the brake lights or the headlights. Vanity is not worth the loss of safety | | | 03-31-2009, 02:32 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Rocky Hill, CT Posts: 1,065 | I say do it until you're happy with the outcome. IMO I can see fine with 6, but I wanted them dark. 3 was definetely tinted, but not quite enough for me. It's really all up to the look you're going for. And FWIW, I will be doing the "extra brake light" mod next time I have the sub box out. I'm going to toss a brighter bulb in there just because of the idiots that drive by brake lights, and I know they're not as bright as others, expecially the new LED ones. Mad, I would not have done the headlights/kept them on had it been dangerous. Sure you do lose some light, but I didn't go THAT dark that it's close to dangerous. Then again, I drive on 99% lit roads, so that helps __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. S50 cams+pistons, e36 M3 front brakes. H&R race springs F+R.
