Tiny bits of work yesterday.

I was going to remove the front end, but I have a friend who picked up an S52 swapped compact and I want him to see it before I take it apart. He will be swinging by Sunday before we go to a WiBimmers get together=)

Most of the time at the shop was spent installing some of the new hardware and talking to the landlord. I am very happy with how the hardware looks so far.

Alternator bolts with beauty washers

Motor mount arm

Intake manifold

I need to figure out how to clean up the throttle linkage a bit since it now looks like crap with everything else looking new.

Throttle body

After getting those in I noticed I made a mistake on the length of two bolts. Look what I did wrong

I ordered them the length of the studs without thinking how far the nut threaded down onto the studs=( I just need to cut them down at work and run a die on the threads to clean them up. No biggie

I peeled the plastidip off of my lux slats and then took some pictures of the front of the car with its Calypso goodness=)

If I wasn't so dead set on keeping the car black it would either be sprayed Calypso of Diamond Schwartz. Black will keep with the classy, subtle look I am shooting for.

TTFN=)

That hardware is real cool. Now I see why you went with DownStarInc. I know that stuff isn't cheap!

It actually wasn't too bad. The valve cover hardware was $30 which is a little much, but for all the bolts I ordered this time It was $70. I do need to place another order for my fender washers, oil pan bolts, and miscellaneous others that I forgot.

Of course he does=) haha I like Dakar but I wouldn't want this car to be Dakar. Maybe after it is black I will change my mind and paint it a different color eventually. Black to me seems to be the sleeky and classy color that keep body lines hidden, yet defined. The thing that sucks about black is taking care of it though. No one ever said Ballin' was easy=D haha

Tiny minimal update.

Finally was able to source some nice stainless socket head screws to replace the rotten ones that held my TPS in place.

I am also working on picking up a rare part that I have been after for over a year and a half. Tomorrow morning they will either be mine, or I may lose out on them. Hoping I get them=) I will clue you guys in once they belong to me

Well I now own the secret, so here is the story.

So I have been looking at the car and wondering what would even look right for mirrors anymore. I have had the mirrors off so long that the flag mirrors just look to big, bulky, and stick to far away from the body.

I thought no mirrors, but it would look a tiny bit odd. So I remember a while back I was offered a set of AC Schnitzer Cup mirrors. I was willing to buy them but the seller started to not respond back and I never heard from him again.

I told my german friend Kitty that I may want to find a set of AC Schnitzer mirrors. She ended up finding exactly what I was looking for and at a steal of a price. We anxiously awaited until this morning and she bid in the last few minutes. Now I just need to wait for them to get to her and then they will be coming stateside=D

They sit tight to the body and flow better than most mirrors I have seen. Some may wonder why I just didn't get ///M3 mirrors. I absolutely despise them and how they don't flow with the body in my mind=P haha
