I will be swapping my tranny out for a good used one very soon. The clutch is engaging a bit high so I figure I'll replace the clutch also. I am well aware of the UUC/M5 setup but dont really want to drop $1000. Is there a Single mass STOCK flywheel available for these cars. Apparently the e36's without air conditioning use a single mass flywheel and a sprung clutch disc. Anybody know if this is correct and if its retrofitable. It may possibly be the flywheel used in e30 318's. I may just replace with a factory clutch on my used DM flywheel. Anybody got any info on all this? -ian | | | 02-20-2006, 09:44 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Saint Louis, MO Posts: 143 | http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...51&hg=11&fg=20 for e30 318is with m42 engine, single mass flywheel up to 3/1990. think it would fit with the sprung hub clutch set from that year? | | | 02-20-2006, 09:53 PM | #3 | doesn't care about you. I used the stock 318ti clutch with this flywheel, no problems yet. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 02-20-2006, 10:07 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Saint Louis, MO Posts: 143 | any problems with chatter using a non single mass flywheel and an unsprung hub clutch disc?? dealer has them available for $317.
