Keeps getting bought and abused by the honda crowd. Every time I see it it is in worse shape than before (like now it doesn't have a hood) but somehow the price never goes down. | | | 02-11-2012, 11:36 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | This is my buddy bens. That's not a cheap repair. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-11-2012, 11:50 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | He does it all himself. This thing needs help. I reached out to the the guy who has it now and he shot me down quick and I offered to bring my own rims. The car is pretty much worth nothing without them. I heard nothing back. | | | 02-13-2012, 04:18 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: richmond va Posts: 6 | slow ti did ben actually put a new motor in the car back when he had it and do you remember it having any wiring problems? im interested in it and would like to know anything else you can tell me before i go look at it | | | 02-13-2012, 04:32 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | I don't know that much. I've talked to him a couple if times at drift events and he's good friends with my buddy. I know he was always changing things up. I don't know what this owner has done. This car belongs on the track and track only, Ben daily'ed it but in this state, i wouldn't daily it. I was actually talking to my dad about picking this up as a dedicated drift slut that can get ragged on. __________________ Im guessing im the youngest member on here with a S52 power'ed Ti at 16 years old! That kinda stuff is funny to me, keeps cranking pans, but doesn't raise the car or make some kind of skidplate to protect it, or shim the motor mounts to raise the motor for a little added clearance. Would make a good beater/auto-x car with a few more inches of ride height. __________________ No more ti. | | | 02-13-2012, 11:00 PM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: richmond va Posts: 6 | this car was a disaster and should never/will never be a daily | | | 02-13-2012, 11:06 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | knew thatt haha, howd it run? __________________ Im guessing im the youngest member on here with a S52 power'ed Ti at 16 years old! | | | 02-13-2012, 11:07 PM | #15 | Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Richmond, Virginia Posts: 37 | This thing is beat to hell. To offer $1000 would be very generous. This thing should never see the road it is pretty unsafe. It actually does have a skid plate now. The fenders have been rolled and the paint has chipped off and there is now rust. No blinkers, ghetto mono wiper and horrid hack job wiring. I have never sat in sparco seats before so maybe this is with all of them but I couldn't actually fit my body into them, much less get the harness straps around my shoulders. There is a metallic clanking coming from up front, probably the rim which has welds in it because they are messed up. For some reason I though the RS' had bigger lips, they do not, .5" lips and they are painted a creamy off-white color. Basically I could go on and on about this car. The kid who has it is a dumbass, it was so low on gas it was starving off. He is actually DDing it without a hood or inspection. He is expecting to get what he paid for it a week ago at $1700 although he said he would do $1500 at the lowest. With or without the RS' I wouldn't pay $800 without feeling ripped off. If someone is looking for a complete beater/track rat that's about all this is good for. I couldn't possibly justify putting this on the road and feel safe. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
