When it gets below 35 degrees out and you unplug your window switches in the console.

I like that.. I always just tap the switch when lowering and try not to stop all the way up.

Mine usually fail when it gets cold out due to the crappy factory lubrication. While I have replaced one of my regulators (3 times), the geometry of the system will never be as perfect as it once was, so I don't even chance it.

My windows barely work. They go up and down with a lot of help from me pulling on them, but one of these days they'll probably just get stuck and stay stuck. Fixing them is on my (very) long list of things to do.

As you watch the cloud of steam rising from your engine, you wish for smaller hands to change the #$%*@ plastic coolant elbow at the back of a M44...

Sigh...

Default You know you a drive a 318ti when...

Have you replaced the rubber/felt channel guides? It definitely made my window slide smoother.

I haven't replaced them. Just siliconed it back into place. Next time I take the door panel off I'll do that.

hahahahaha I LMAO when I read this one. So true. The thing grips the road like an Adidas shoe. Terrifies the fiancee. She's almost afraid of the BMW would rather go in the Jeep. Maybe because I showed her how to do a drifting turn in a stock 318ti.

I just love how it feels to drive. Very responsive and grips the road with a lot of low end torque.

Hell yeah. Mine is a rescue. Neglected left to sit for at least a few years with the window down because it broke. Some nutter just scrapped it and I snapped it up.

Gonna take a while to bring it back to it's former glory but the thing still hauls a**

When I bought the 318ti my fiancee said she didn't want the car and told me to sell it.

After much ado, I told her to just give it up. No way I'm selling it. I could have made $4,000 on flipping it and I am keeping the damned thing. It's a bit of a project but the car isn't going anywhere.

The next week she cleaned the car and put a rosary with a cross on the rearview mirror and told me, "Ok, fine. You have your dream car. I give up." Then I bought a Jeep for her.

She's happy. Case closed.

Is it just natural to have a big smile every time you go around a corner or turn?

I love it when someone finds a 12 year old thread.
