Default Passenger side door lock problems

My 1996 ti has a passenger door lock problem, while inside the car I press the door lock switch on the center console. The driver side and the truck lock but the passenger side doesn't. While out side the car I insert my key on the drivers side to lock the doors and it only locks the driver door and trunk. If I walk to the passenger door and lock it with the key it locks all of them. Pulling the handle manual does open the door.Does anybody a fix for this? Which part broke?

Pull the panel and moisture guard (black foam piece) and inspect the wiring. Could be a simple fault.

actuator may be sticking or, worse case, needs to be replaced. i had one of these fail once. unfortunately, not cheap (something like $200 ... that might have included labor, it was so long ago i forget).
