Default Z3 3.0 SuperSprint Exhaust

For those who have used the Z3 3.0 SuperSprint exhaust (787806), could you post a picture of how far out the tips stick from the back valance? I purchased one for my 332ti, but when aligning the exhaust under the car properly it looks like the tips will stick out 4 to 5 inches past the rear valance.

I would love to see a couple of photos from the back and underneath the car so that I can figure out what I'm doing wrong in placing the exhaust.

I was under the impression that this would be a good fitting exhaust, but I'm just not sure how that could be. The hanger placement doesn't seem to be the issue, but the length of the can and tips is what is giving me problems. I don't want the exhaust bumping into the rear differential, and I don't want the tips sticking out 4 or 5 inches either...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why didn't you get the 786606 which is what the Ti calls for and then use the connecting pipe for the 6 cylinder engine/cat, not the 4 cylinder connecting piece. The ass end of the z3 from 2001 is longer than that of the Ti.

You may want to call BMP and see what they have to say about it. They should be able to tell you if the 786606 is shorter than the muffler that you currently have.

I'm pretty sure I read something on either the BMP website or on the supersprint website that said they recommended using the supersprint mufflers with connecting pipes because if you ever upgrade from a 4 cylinder engine to an i6 engine you only have to change the 90$ connecting pipe and not the complete exhaust.

I think the 786606 is a single inlet with dual tips. The 787806 is a dual inlet with dual tips and is supposed to fit nicely in the 318ti with an M engine swap. I orignally had a single can from an M coupe as the exhaust which also had a single inlet with dual tips but I wanted true dual exhaust so once the Y pipe rusted out I figured I would repalce it with a better exhaust.

Thanks
Matt
