Frankly, I was looser with my bro's e46 (although with the supercharger, your right foot hangs it out at any time ). I hit a new snag two-miles from the house. Heard some noise up front, rough idle, then bang. Stock fan clutch fail with full blade deployment into the radiator. New radiator and fan delete with electric fan were on the list...now they're at the top. |
LOL!!! Sorry I know its horrible, but i couldn't help but laugh, *knock on wood!* -> for myself. But having someone experience the "typical" weakness in person is ironic when we where talking about the other parts that might need help. I just went with the bimmerworld fan delete/electric SPAL fan kit.
I am sure if you had the same power as the e46 m3 in the ti, the rear would hang out more too
I think also many people do not take into account that in comparison to the z3 and e30 at least the 318ti has more of a wheel base, not sure about the other trailing arm BMW's, but I don't doubt that also helps keep it steady. I have enjoyed many many hours in the canyon with my ti when I used to drive it spiritedly often and it was always great controllable fun.

I went with a Mishimoto radiator because I got lucky and found one for cheap (new too! and my car isn't tracked) but have you thought about the z3 s54 "three row" radiator? Seems like it has some more cooling capacity.
