So ive read before that you can turn the m44 1.9 into a 2.1 or even a 2.3? I just have a few questions. 1.)Say you modified from a stock engine with no upgrades, is the stock ecu still compatible or do you need to do something with tuning? 2.)can you still do the 2.1 conv or 2.3 conv, if you have the DASC? So basically is the dasc compatible with the engine upgrade? Would you again have to do something with the ecu/tuning? 3.)What exactly do you have change (what parts) from the engine to make that 2.1 and/or 2.3 upgrade and to start at 0 miles. Would the engine be heavier or slightly heavier? 4.) So the stock 1.9 is 138 hp at the crank, what would the hp be at 2.1 to the crank and 2.3 at the crank. 5.)What kind or where can i get the parts that will be needed for the upgrade? Is there a website? So how much would we be looking at in the parts for doing the upgrade. 6.) When done with the conversion, can you run more than 10psi of boost? Thanks for help. Im sure this will be benificial for other people as well. | | | 03-23-2007, 09:40 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: SoCal Posts: 549 | __________________ 318Ti Sport (Gone, but thanks for your years of service) | M3 E30 | 190E-16V | M Coupe E36/8 | | | 03-23-2007, 09:58 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: maritimes Posts: 1,433 | awesome PDF autom3... now the prices at the bottom of the pdf.. are they for the full engine, or just the kit to build up the engine??? __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 03-23-2007, 10:01 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: SoCal Posts: 549 | Quote: Originally Posted by rwd_king awesome PDF autom3... now the prices at the bottom of the pdf.. are they for the full engine, or just the kit to build up the engine??? | No idea to be honest. I'm sure a quick phone call to them will get you more than all the answers you need [or want]. Check out www.m42club.com One of the members drove their car to MM, had it built up, and drove it home. He documented the entire process, IIRC.
