California I found a wrecked ti today at the junkyard. Anything I should be getting, given I don't have a complete car of my own yet....? | | | 04-07-2012, 01:17 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Minneapolis Posts: 1,587 | Nice! I wish I could find a ti at my local pick-your-own-part yard. Only rarely do I see E36s, and when I do they are usually trashed 1992 or 1993 models. I'd grab those wheels for one, assuming the other side looks good. Also that interior is nice - sport pagacke stuff (except the pax seat?), but salvage yard seats are usually nasty. Look for an X-Brace. | | | 04-07-2012, 01:57 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: Los Angeles Posts: 28 | Quote: Originally Posted by CirrusSR22 Look for an X-Brace. | I'm having trouble finding the X-brace. It's standard on Z3 and E36 convertibles but is also a great upgrade for all other E36s. Sometimes you'll find them as upgrades people did. Looks like this: http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/image...0212%20(2).jpg Otherwise you'll just see a single, lateral bar in its place. I need to run down to LA for business soon, and I might just stop by with my tools... | | | 04-10-2012, 06:22 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Fl Posts: 1,353 | Grab that custom lap AC. Looks like it is a sport package. Grab any of the door cards that are still good as well as the seats. Sway bars will be an upgrade for non-sport models as well. Check and see if the diff is a limited slip. __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE! This is a DREADFUL junkyard managed by idiots. They mark various parts on cars with various color paint pens and symbols like *2 and <triangle>3 to indicate primo-pricing. I really wonder what that paint pen does to the plastic parts... Also they seem to think that a standard generic sealed beam headlamp is a premium part. Price for a taillight assembly is $30ish. This is a BAD junkyard. But it also has few customers so the car is probably un-picked. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
