Default Car starting trouble

Ever since I got my car back from a shop that replaced two hoses and a connector the car hasn't been starting right, when I try to start it, it cranks over like it wants to start and I have to give it gas to start it but still that may take a few tries at times. It has new spark plugs and starter. All the grounds look fine.

I do not. I need to solve the issue in order to register it its currently off the road. When it does start it runs decent, does yours run alright when it does start ? Also do you know what hoses and sensor plug they replaced ? I was told it could be the throttle position sensor or leaky injectors but i seem to think its something else. My plugs are fouled black like it has been running rich, maybe a symptom of using the gas pedal when starting it.

Some plastic connector in the back and two hoses. All by the firewall.

Running rich: clean your o2 sensor (soak it in gasoline) and clean your MAF sensor. Use only MAF cleaner

Hard starting: check grounds, and your CPS (Crank Position Sensor) test the OHMS with a multimeter between pins 1 and 2 should be around 550 ish.

How do I check the OHMS? Because my grounds are good.

Your going to need a multimeter, I think you said you don't have one. Go buy one its worth your money IMO. Your gunna follow the CPS till the plug unplug it and test between pins 1 and 2. You should get around 550 OHMS

If you can't find your CPS it's the thing on the front side of the engine almost touching the crank or the lowest pully

Brandon, I checked my CPS and it read 528 on the mulitmeter would this be within spec ? The car has no fault codes but cranks and cranks and hardly starts.

Yes that's within specs. Try cleaning it off with electrical contact cleaner and clean the connector pins as well. Have you check your fuel and spark?
