Oil leak and rubber block I traced my engine oil leak to the oil filter housing bushing that mounts between the housing and the engine block. The bushing is sealed with two O-rings and apparently they became old and brittle causing oil to leak out the side of the block. It seems the bushing for $8 and the filter housing gasket for $3 will repair the problem. I'll get these ordered today and installed on the weekend. My question is, there is a rubber block that attaches to the steering rack crossmember and sits between the crossmember and the oil pan, I broke one of the mounts that hold this in place during the cleaning process of the above repair, is this rubber block necessary? If so, what's a good source for this part, save the dealer? Thanks, |
