Tough choice. I'd go with 1996-1999 BMW 318ti Radiator I don't see where the overflow would go on the 1991-1999 BMW 318i Radiator - Behr __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 05-22-2010, 11:18 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Merritt Island, FL Posts: 351 | Quote: Originally Posted by enfermo | Get the radiator for the ti specifically since you should have an electric fan mounted to the radiator. This radiator has a shroud mounted to the radiator and off the side of the shroud is a seprate overflow tank. __________________ Alpine Weiß 1995 318ti M50tu mostly stock, chip'd 413, AFE Intake. e36 M3 front brakes, e30 M3 rear calipers. e28 3.25 LSD + e30 axles. If I do, I guess you need a special tool or something . Like this right? http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/tech...eplacement.htm Last edited by enfermo; 05-23-2010 at 01:07 AM. | | | 05-23-2010, 02:15 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Merritt Island, FL Posts: 351 | Look at your engine. Is there a fan attached to the water pump as show in figure 6 from the article you referred to? If so then you wouldn't have an electric fan the answer would be yes to your question. However if you have an electric fan like most all ti's do, then no special tools are required for the electric fan removal. __________________ Alpine Weiß 1995 318ti M50tu mostly stock, chip'd 413, AFE Intake. e36 M3 front brakes, e30 M3 rear calipers. e28 3.25 LSD + e30 axles. I was so happy! It takes about 5 minutes to take the radiator fan and shroud off. Easy money! I have a '96 base model. Almost forgot, I ordered the radiator from the local parts store and they had a Nissen radiator that comes with the expansion tank already. Very similar to the one pictured above. __________________ 2005 Steel Blue 325ia: Upgrades/Mods: Lots. 1996 Alpine White: 318ti: Dinan Stage 1 Software. CosmoRacing CAI EVO 3.5". The radiator cost me 175 bones and it was made by BEHR. | | | 10-23-2010, 06:56 PM | #8 | Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: CALIFORNIA Posts: 82 | whats the difference tis came with electric and non electric fans? im about to do my radiator and was tripping i thought i didnt have a fan but i guess its electric cause i see a fan but its not connected to the engine | | | 10-23-2010, 07:04 PM | #9 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by 2MIZ129 whats the difference tis came with electric and non electric fans? im about to do my radiator and was tripping i thought i didnt have a fan but i guess its electric cause i see a fan but its not connected to the engine | No ti's came with engine driven fans, all of them came with electric puller fans. | | | 10-25-2010, 01:26 AM | #10 | Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: CALIFORNIA Posts: 82 | thanks, im about to replace my radiator can anyone help me out i havent done this before i just want to replace the radiator and the hoses connected to it. how many hoses are connected to the radiator and what is the part numbers can i get the hoses anywhere like kragen or something? or should i get em aftermarket or from the dealer... | | | 10-25-2010, 01:56 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oxford, Ohio Posts: 868 | Check out realoem.com. You can enter the last 7 digits of your VIN number there and then you will have access to all part numbers for everything on your car. Armed with part numbers you can search sites such as AutohausAZ, Pelican Parts, Getbmwparts, etc. and get the best price for your parts. If you are replacing your radiator I suggest buying 2 of the clips on top which secure it in place (part no. 17111723341). You will likely break them removing the radiator. And there are 3 hoses to your radiator. And there is an excellent write up on here. Do a search for "cooling system rebuild" and you will see it. Last edited by dave45056; 10-25-2010 at 02:09 AM.
