Lost grip at the apex, had the choice of either hitting the car next to me (minivan with what looked like kids) or going for the median. I chose median - and now my right rear wheel is bent and damaged beyond repair. Anyone that has upgraded their wheels have the original stock (on active models, anyway) 16" wheels? __________________ | | | 12-14-2006, 12:05 AM | #2 | Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Carrick-on-Shannon...for 10 more months Posts: 74 | | | | 12-14-2006, 02:02 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Central NJ Posts: 2,440 | The active has the 15" wheels. | | | 12-15-2006, 10:15 AM | #4 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Hey Kraln, Thats a bummer about your wheel. I'll sell you 4 for the price of 1. I just bought a 97 ti sport with the stock 16" M tech five spoke wheels wrapped in brand new Dunlop Sport 8000's. I already have a set of 95 M3 Double spokes in my garage waiting to go on the ti and need to sell these to afford rubber for the M3 wheels. I was going to eBAY them this weekend along with a couple other things but my car just threw a check engine light at me and I'll be trying to troubleshoot that for the better part of the weekend. The 318ti Sport wheels are 16" and flawless with no rash, chips or bends as the previous owner took excellent care of the car (used steel wheels with snow tires during the winter). I'm also looking to sell the stock Alpine stereo w/harness & all wires labeled for quick install, a Blaupunkt A08 10 disc cd changer with original box, wires and manual, the set of steel wheels with snow tires (I live in Cali, so no use other than spares), and a brand new set of coilovers (went with H&R race springs instead). Heck I'd even let the M3 wheels go if I got a good enough offer. They have some curb rash but I plan on smoothing them out and refinishing them before I drop the $ on tires. Anyway, just thought I'd drop in and say hi. Sorry about your wheel, good job saving the car though. Be sure to examine your rear end thoroughly before you go on any trips or drive it really hard. While you have the wheel off, look under there and make sure nothing is bent around the trailing arms, differential and or axles. If you're interested in my set of wheels pm me and I'll post some pics. I'm hoping to get around $400 for the wheels since the tires alone are worth atleast that much. They only have 2000 miles on them. However I am willing to negotiate, perhaps throw in a little something extra or work with you on a price. I hate seeing Bimmers broke and they look funny with a donut. Why didn't the ti come with a full size spare? | | | 12-15-2006, 10:21 AM | #5 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | p.s. I'm relatively new to the forum, I just bought my car in Michigan and drove it back to California. I've already done a few mods and I'll have a bunch of pics in the near future. This is my 4th bimmer and probably my favorite, I love the HATCH! | | | 12-15-2006, 02:05 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Berlin, Germany Posts: 258 | Cooljess76: Thanks for the offer, but, GT is local, and is hooking me up. I'd take you up on the offer for sure, but I need the wheels ASAP. Before selling them on ebay, try bimmerforums... __________________ | | | 12-20-2006, 02:39 AM | #7 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Thanks for the advice, Just posted on both sites and already have a few lookers. Sorry for advertising in your thread. Are you back on the road yet? Another guy on here had the same thing happen to him last night. Sounds like he bent his control arms along with two of his wheels. Hope everything worked out for you. | | | 12-20-2006, 03:54 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Berlin, Germany Posts: 258 | Yep. Turns out the only damage was to the wheel and an already rusted cat bracket. Btw, if anyone wants three wheels and four tires... __________________ | | | 12-21-2006, 03:07 PM | #9 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Snwbrdrbum hit a curb and two of his wheels were damaged.
