Default A Few Turbo Questions!

OK, i am going to boost my Ti. And been looking at different kits out there.
Main issue is that i seen some kits on EBAY like http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/380388496...84.m1423.l2649

Are these kits made out to be as good as they seem? or is it worth making your own kit up?

And my other main issue is those kits are from the USA. I live in Australia, so we drive on the other side of the road. Which in turn means that the master cylinder and steering wheel shaft are on the same side as where the turbo would fit. Would this be an issue??

Only want to run about 12-15psi, and use as a daily runner, as well.

I don't think any of the US kits will fit on a right hand steer car. You would be better off with a DASC at 15psi.

It could be done but you will need a custom turbo manifold and I would go top mount on the turbo if you are going to have a custom manifold made.

The EBay kits are good except for tuning. You really need a custom tune instead of just jacking up the fuel pressure with a RRFPR under boost

Yer thanks John, i thought that be the case. I emailed the guys selling them asking them if it would fit, and guess what.. off coarse it will fit, anything for a a sale i guess.
But my gut felling seem to be right..
The problem is i prefer a Turbo over a S/C. so might start searching for somewhere to make a custom manifold. Might even look in the UK...

It might fit. If you are serious we need pictures of the right hand steer exhaust side of the motor. Lot's of pictures please. Post them here in this thread.

You could flip the OBX manifold upside-down and make it a top mount, Maybe. It might just fit right in there bottom mount if the right hand steer car uses the same exhaust manifold and collector as US cars. You most definately can use the OBX manifold as your base manifold and do minor fab work to get around the steering colum.

You could use a 666 top mount manifold but you would need to do some cutting and beating on the right strut tower.

There are lot's of options but no one on here can help you without pictures so we know what you are dealing with.

Post the pictures and I will tell you what I think. I do have 2 turbo installs, one of them with frame and engine block modifications to fit the turbo.

I will try my best to help you, John S
