Angry Engine not idling and stalling

Hi All thanks for taking the time to read me entry
I would appreciate some advice.

I did not use my car for the last four days.
Then I started it tonight and it had a bad bad idle.
Surging & stalling ......
I tried to drive it around the block and it was like I was putting my foot to the floor and then releasing it... on off on off then it would stall.

I drove it till it was normal operating temp and there was no change.
I opened the hood and I could see smoke coming out between the engine and the firewall. Not a clutch or brake smell. Best I can describe it would be oil on the exhaust manifold - that sort of smell.

After a few minutes of bucking down the street the check engine came on.
No surprise.

I'm suspecting the idle control valve (ICV)

I'm Rather perplexed....

Next Day... It keeps getting better

So Thursday I start the car and everything is fine....
I stop start stop start and it works until
all of a sudden the ASC light is on and the Brake Pad wear indicator and the check engine light.

Stop the car
Start it and all the lights are off except the engine check light. @#*$#@
and the car is stumbling and stalls.

Start the car and everything is ok except the engine check light ...
I fidget with the key and it stalls.... hmmmmmm
Try it again .... stalls
Then it was ok #$@*&*&#@

Checked the throttle Body it was clean.
wacked the ICV - not a hicup
I'm going to take it work tomorrow and see what happens

Geez I hate intermitent crap.
