If so should I do it all on my own or should I take my car to TJ since I live about 20 mins from the border and get it done over there. | | | 06-18-2016, 06:42 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Prolly cheaper and faster in TJ. Just be sure what thickness they use for the sunroof liner as it can't be too thick or it will jam the mechanism. Prolly really would take 2 1/2 to 3 cans. Learning I let the adhesive dry to long. I'm thinking of doing it myself, my only worry though is that I have a sunroof. That's tho only part I'm not looking forwards too. Imma have to do some research on how to do it on a sunroof. | | | 06-20-2016, 03:47 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | yes, I have 3 sunroof headliners and a Cali left to go. The Slicktop was my learning experience. It wasn't hard, just like most things, prep was the big thing to get the old headliner cleaned and preped for the glue. Lessons learned: - clean the headliner really well for the best adhesion
- Let the glue get tacky, but not dry.
- Have extra cans of glue available
- Don't multitask.
- definitely worth the $80 to get it done, especially since I have a total of 5 to do.
- Way easier to have a spare headliner to work with to not rush the prep.
Good luck with your project. Cheers! __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org!
