Just finished recovering my headliner. Got lucky at a local fabric store that was having a Black Friday sale and got the material and glue both for about fifty dollars. Put in about eight hours of labor (I'm slow), but I'm pleased with the results and had fun figuring things out as I went.

A couple weeks ago I discovered a leak in the hatch with the exact symptoms Steven described in this thread from last year: http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=39290

Haven't been able to address it yet, I've just been jamming paper towels up behind the carpeting and changing them out when they get wet. However there was quite a bit of rain over the last couple days, more than the paper towels could handle. Some water made it past and down into the back right plastic storage compartment. I took it out to empty it, and discovered a sight I was not expecting.

The body well beneath it contained about an inch of dirty muddy water, with a very obvious silt trail leading right from the spare tire well. I think a good bit of water has been splashing up in there while driving, and seeping through where the spare tire carrier is bolted in from above.

Ugh. Hopefully it's just the result of a one-time extreme case, last night I was driving home through the hardest rain I've ever driven in with the ti. It was bad. The ti got me home safely though and did just fine, I'm thankful for that!

Cleaned up the inside, fixed my window driver side from being off track. Still got to fix the sunroof.

Forgot to mention it is retrofit with a 3L S50 engine by PO...I read on the bimmer forums that it doesn't make any difference, but now that it is removed it should shift a lot better and smoother..

After I finished up my headliner I gave my sandgrun interior a good cleaning. Used softscrub on the vinyl seats and panels followed by copious amounts of armor all.

Finish putting the drive line back together, then torque the transmission output flange 30mm nut with blue loctite to spec after making my $6 custom home depot tool to hold the flange...

ordered two fenders for the Blueberry as the boys call it. They want me to hurry up and finish it. Fenders and M3 front and M tech rear will not be sprayed till spring time.

Found a decent shell but color was off because it's Alaska Blue. Won't be springing for a new hood that is for sure.

Edit: Talked with a breaker in UK and ordered a Avus blue Sport rear bumper for reasonable amount.

Now to anxiously await it's delivery.

Yesterday and today, I FINALLY got my old sunroof "refurbished" and everything seems to be lined up and sliding properly. Now I just need to remove my existing sunroof, swap the 2 panels to the refurbished cassette... install the cassette into the car... then align the motor to the sunroof.

Assuming that I haven't broken something else in the process... which is pretty likely based on my history with this damn process, LOL... I'll start refurbishing the cassette that I removed from the car.

I'm tempted to make a video of the process because the videos I found didn't mention a few important things that I only figured out because I had another correctly assembled, but broken sunroof to look at.

Went for a test drive it after some major work...so far no leaks, no RPM cut outs, or any idle issue..a bit more vibration due to the AKG motor/trans mount

Nice! You think the vibration is from the mounts or the removal of the dampener? Or the balance of the driveshaft? If the shaft, that could affect your center bearing eventually.
