Default hi everybody

hey, first thread/post here.

didn't really see an introduction thread so i decided to do it this way.

my name is conner, and yeah..19 years of age..umm..well, i guess the good stuff now..

I've been a bmw owner my entire life. It's all my parents ever drove, all I ever drove, and all I will ever drive. and no, we weren't rich..my dad just liked nice cars.

Past cars have included a 2002, 86' 325i, 88' 325ix, 91' 525i, and now, currently i drive a 1995 318ti Base..

I'm loving the ti to death, its my favorite car by far..the ix was fun, but this, this is like nothing i've ever driven.. Its fairly bone stock..and I've been lurking around on the forums trying to decided what I should do with my little beast..it seems like supercharging is the way to go..but why? Why would I not turbo?

anywho, doesn't look there are too many canadians here, but i live on Vancouver Island, in BC. If you know where Vancouver is, then..you should know where the island is.

Thanks for reading, hope to get to know some of ya better.

There is only one turbo kit available for our cars, and they are sold out world wide. From what I've heard the kit was a good "starting point", meaning you would have to spend some time tweaking and upgrading to get the bugs worked out. The m42 and m44 get LOTS of low end torque from a supercharger. There is also the fitment issue, there isn't much room on the exhaust side because of the engine angle.

While the N/A 4 cylinders make peak power near the redline, with the supercharger, you can short shift at 2500rpms and keep up with everyday "fast" traffic. When you want lots of power, run it through the rev range, you'll be able to keep up with e36 m3s and the like.

Default Newbie

Hey everybody. Just bought a 99 TI with the M-Tech package. Love the car and cant wait to autocross it. I currently have four bmw's. A 91 318is which is my autocross car, a 95 325is which is my 18 year old's car ( she also autocrosses with me) and a 2000 328ci which is my pimping car. I am fixin to order struts and new tires for it to be ready for the May 28 Porcshe Bmw event. The Kybs look cheep but I might go with the Koni adjustables. What do ya'll think. Ed in Houston. Also I want to put a new cat back exhaust. Borla doesn't make one for it and Supersprint costs alot of jack.
