Key fobs are $80 im buying one though once i get my school money back next month | | | 08-12-2009, 10:57 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Charlottesville, VA Posts: 102 | I had the same probable finding mine. It was also hidden under the dash in the kickbar. Ohnonomiss do you have a red light near your cigarette lighter? If you do, than I believe you at least use to have an alarm system. Also do you know if yours is an active package, if it is than I believe the car originally came with it. | | | 08-13-2009, 01:46 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: CA Posts: 2 | reddog i have no idea what package i have. i dont see a red light anywhere in the car, but i know i have power doors and windows, leather seats, manual trans, sun and moonroof. it does the thing where everything closes just with the key. not sure if that helps. also fljayson what is a key fob? | | | 08-13-2009, 02:16 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Houston TX Posts: 309 | you can buy a new transmitter off of ebay for $30 thats where i got mine at. Just program it their is a DIY on here. if you do have an alarm their should be a red l.e.d. light next to your cigarette lighter thing. | | | 08-13-2009, 02:58 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I don't think you could even get the key with the buttons built into it for the ti, you have to have the separate key fob (aka remote) | | | 08-13-2009, 03:05 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Charlottesville, VA Posts: 102 | Whats the last 7 of your vin, I should be able to look up your options? | | | 09-08-2011, 05:12 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | I couldn't find a definite answer and I didn't want to start a new thread. I'm confused on which remote/transmitter/fob I need for my car. I've read that the 3 button fob is needed for build dates up to 8/95. Anything after 8/95 requires a 2 button fob. But there have been conflicting reports on this site and others. I've also read that some alarm modules/brain/computer can work with both 2 and 3 button fobs... I found this statement on BFC "The only way to tell for sure is to check the FCC I'D on the control module. It should be the same as the one on the fob except the last digit will be a zero" I feel good about this statement. The FCC ID on my 10/95 module is A269ZUA110. I found a 2 button remote online with FCC ID A269ZUA111. Maybe you guys with a 3 button fob can confirm the above statement next time you have your glovebox removed... __________________ | | | 09-08-2011, 06:51 PM | #9 | Member Join Date: Apr 2010 Location: Toronto-ish Posts: 47 | Quote: Originally Posted by RedDog Whats the last 7 of your vin, I should be able to look up your options? | Hey... can you look up my options? kc31628 Thanks __________________ | | | 09-08-2011, 07:21 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Quote: Originally Posted by Platanos I couldn't find a definite answer and I didn't want to start a new thread. If you can pull the module out and look at it you can tell which one you have. If it has the door to insert the chip from the 3 button remote for programming....well it's for a 3 button remote. Mine is a 2/96 and uses the 3 button.... __________________ No more ti. | | | 09-08-2011, 07:39 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | Gotcha! The one installed in my car doesn't have the trap door. I have a spare module that does have the door. Thanks for the confirmation! __________________ | | | 10-30-2011, 06:21 AM | #12 | Member Join Date: Oct 2011 Location: SFO Posts: 38 | I have a riddle (sort of) for you guys. Mine is a 7/97 Ti. I did get a key fob from the previous owner. Its the two button one. When I press either button there is a definite alarm call from under the engine bay (I presume, of course). But this action doesnt lock anything. And neither does anything else that I can decipher. Ohh and I do have the little red l.e.d near the lighter. Someone please take a dig at this. Thanks much in advance.
