Default San Fran East Bay Shop Recommendations

I would like to upgrade my '96 Active with a sport spring/ shock setup. Any recommendations from Bay Area members for garages/shops in this area familiar with BMW suspensions? I'm in the Fremont, CA area. DINAN in Mountain View quoted me about $2,000 so I'm looking around.

Also I'm looking for mild lowering springs (1" or so) and sporty type shocks. Goal is enough beef for 16" wheels, crisper cornering, and more fun but with a civil enough ride for daily driving. Any recommendations here also appreciated.

A shop near San Jose Airport - Motorspeed West - is highly recommended for general maintenance. Looking for some place closer to Fremont in case it takes more than a day.

Thanks, Scott!

Hey folks,
So I'm in the city and I can recommend two places:
Phaedrus at 1641 Jackson St. 415-567-8000. (I've only gotten parts from them, but
many of my friends have raved about their service)
my real reommendation is H&B 2300 4th St. in Berkeley. 510-549-1515 (They are
across the pond, but so very thorough and honest.)

Cheers,
Brian

I've got both the SRS reset light and the RX-5 light for everything, oil change, inspection, air bag....let me know if you guys need resets. It takes less than 2 minutes.

yeah, i have that problem too
it clears the code/light, but the light comes back on since its considered a fixable detectable problem and not merely a resetable fault....worth a try on yours if want. pm me if you want to try it out. i work downtown near SBC park, we could just meet somewhere or.....the city's not that big.

You could try http://www.edgemotorworks.com/
They are in Dublin, if that's no too far. I figure if you are considering Dinan, this can't be much further.
