I think you have to bypass the stock amplifier.

Are installing a Sony, or something else? It's not clear from your post.

I put a Sony in years ago and as I recall it would only play the radio and not the CD. Sony's are wired so that the antenna is not triggered when playing a CD but on our car that means the amp isn't energized when playing a CD. Do you get sound on the radio?

Regardless, make sure the car's amp is triggered. I believe on the Sony that is actually the blue-and-white wire but your documentation should make that clear.

By way of a plug, when installing mine I got the no-sound around midnight during the install. Since I got mine from Crutchfield (fine local merchant), I called their tech line and actually got someone who pinpointed the problem immediately as a confusion between the blue and the blue-and-white wire. Sometimes you do get what you pay for!

I don't know and I don't care. I do know that many people including myself have installed aftermarket radios that are not compatible with the factory amp which is why I suggested it.

Look man, this isn't a contest. OP asked for suggestions two days ago and I gave him one based on the limited information given in his post. He also cross-posted this in the "exterior" section of the forum to which coincidentally another member with an unusually high post count suggested the same thing I did! The thread was moved to the appropriate section by one of the moderators and later the OP posted a comment stating the problem was resolved. Maybe my advice helped, maybe it didn't. I was just letting you know that he already got his radio to work as mentioned in his other thread.

Default problem resolved

Thanks again guys you hit this right on the head the radio Eclipse playing well and so is the amp. The blue/white wire from the HU was the on that worked for both radio and CD. The solid blue wire played the radio only.
