Default Difference between M42 & N42?
I heard that Europe had a different motor, still a 1.9l, but different from the M42 & 44. What changes were made? Specs? Any information at all would be helpful, really. I'm mostly just curious.

So the N42 is a totally different motor, not just a derivative of the M42?

the N42 is valvetronic unit with double vanos system , L4 , 16V , used in the E46s , all aluminium
