Default The Purchase

I have purchased a few cars from online, and always seem to get quite similar results. In efforts to subdue my series of unfortunate failures (190e Mercedes, 2005 tC) , I would like to reconcile with a 1997 318ti full e36 m3 convert. California. This automobile looks absolutely stellar, and I am wondering if this seems like a good value. And seems legitimate? I figured no better place to review this car then 318ti.org. Furthermore, this would be my daily, so I must consider overall driveability during NJ winters, and overall routine maintenance costs. If I could just get an idea of what it's like to own a s52 318ti then I will most definitely buy one. I just have to convince my parents it's not a death trap and I'm set 😁👍

Personally, if its for DD, i wouldnt buy a 6cyl swapped TI.

Buy a stock TI. Learn from it and then mod it.

Value looks right. Nice color.

A good thing to know would be miles on the rig since the swap. The more the better.

I don't know anything about swaps so can't help there. Doesn't mention switching diff or axle's, that might become an issue. I think the battery should be in the trunk too.

I'd also think that this car would be a lot to handle in NJ winters (snow packed roads), but I've never been to NJ.

The standard TI would probably treat you better as a commuter and could be had for several thousand less. Also, not as Death-trapish.

Good luck!

This was for sale on Craigslist for $4500 before that seller bought it. I don't know what was fixed on it, but I doubt $3k worth of stuff was done on it.

When was it on CL for that price? I've been looking for a 318 like this for over a year now and haven't seen that. Supersprint headers and a RemUx exhaust aren't the cheapest things in the world, but then again you really never know with this CL bull****, which Is the root of all my automobile consumption issues.
