The car is in really good condition, But the inspector failed me for 1) a brake light bulb being out , you know the one in the hatchback..I just fix that ( $2.99) 2) bad wiper blades, I replaced all 3 $ 40.00 3) and this one that is very confusing to me .. while I am driving my car all my windshield wiper settings work fine , but when I stop/slow down the intermittent setting slows down until i start driving / moving again ??? anyone know what this is is this the way it should function or is it a problem thanks! i go back through inspect tommorow.. | | | 03-31-2008, 11:36 PM | #2 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Virginia Posts: 12 | Did the inspector fail you for that last part. I have a 1995 318ti and I think mine does the same thing. It seems to slow down when you are not moving. It is like it anticipates when you need more wiper usage and when you don't. I always thought that was how it was supposed to be and I have had mine for 10 years now and never failed an inspection b/c of it. As a matter of fact I got it inspected a couple of weeks ago. Looking to hear what you find out! | | | 03-31-2008, 11:39 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Takoma Park Posts: 16 | yeah he failed me for all 3, I will let you know what happens ...tomorrow | | | 03-31-2008, 11:43 PM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Virginia Posts: 12 | Well, mine is at the spa or I would run outside and check for you. Seriously, I am using my tax return to pamper her. Getting her a new headliner, gear shift boot and a few other touches to get her as close to her original glory as I can. I wish I had my books or something here at the house. Hmmm! | | | 03-31-2008, 11:44 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | The wipers are speed sensitive. Don't be alarmed, so is your radio. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 03-31-2008, 11:48 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Takoma Park Posts: 16 | thanks !! makes me feel alot better , because my girlfriend called bmw and they told her that was a $800 repair!!! | | | 04-01-2008, 02:17 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Takoma Park Posts: 16 | passed inspection. Enough moisture collects while you're driving to use the wiper, but at a stand still, if it kept going, there wouldn't be enough moisture. I love it! __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts .
