What would you guys suggest I replace before I put the motor in. I already got new gaskets and a new timing chain tensioner. Also, I am changing the oil and all the filters. Is there anything I'm overlooking? | | | 02-23-2006, 11:37 PM | #2 | doesn't care about you. I'd also suggest a new clutch and maybe have your flywheel resurfaced. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 02-23-2006, 11:41 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | mine is an automatic so I don't need to worry about clutch or a flywheel at that. (I think) so rear main huh? ok makes a lot of sense. Is the tool bmw specific cause I'm doing the work at the base's Auto craft shop and they have all the tools that I might need there. | | | 02-23-2006, 11:52 PM | #4 | doesn't care about you. I'm sure one of them will get it done. | | | 02-24-2006, 04:11 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | also If you guys ever replaced the headers.... how hard was it to take off the old one? did you get new exhaust manifold studs or reused the old ones? I don't want to run into any road blocks once I'm started. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
