As for the taillights, I think I'll be able to figure that out, but if there's anything I should know, some tips would be great! Thanks guys! | | | 06-23-2005, 07:48 PM | #2 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | I don't think the side markers are going to work since it's a different year, but you might want to ask somone else on that. The taillights are so simple, just 4 screws for each light. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 06-23-2005, 07:55 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Pismo Beach, CA Posts: 500 | Those clears will look pretty with the pink paint job lol. I don't know if its a necessity, but I put a real thin layer of silicone behind where my taillights seal. I didn't want to risk moisture getting into there or leading towards my subs. But that might be me overdoing it. Can't help ya with the sides, I have a 96 and though all e36 were the same bodywise. Try just taking off your sides, and see if the clears line up if there's a bracket back there to mount em on. I'm sure someone with a 97 will post with better help lol __________________ Joe, In San Luis Obispo E30-> '96 TI sport -> E30 -> '96 TI | | | 06-23-2005, 08:59 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by BimmerBabe I have instructions for the sidemarkers, but they're for the 1996 model cuz they have the philips screw on the side...but I have a 1997 and there aren't any visible screws or anything... | You need to exchange them for the correct ones. They are physically different. It looks like it changed 9/96. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...86&hg=63&fg=95 __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 06-23-2005, 09:03 PM | #5 | Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: SoCal Posts: 61 | Quote: Originally Posted by BimmerBabe Hey guys, I just received my clear sidemarkers and taillights from Ebay and I was wondering if you guys could help me with the installation...I have instructions for the sidemarkers, but they're for the 1996 model cuz they have the philips screw on the side...but I have a 1997 and there aren't any visible screws or anything...so how do I take them off my car? If I am not mistaken, I don't believe the sidemarkers are interchangeable between years (I could be wrong). I have a 98ti and mine doesn't have the visible screw either. I myself have been shopping around to buy some and saw they made specific ones for specific years. My guess is that if they have two different types, they probably won't interchange (at least in this case). Hope this helps! motorwerk | | | 06-23-2005, 09:34 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Pomfret Ct Posts: 277 | Quote: Originally Posted by motorwerk Hi BimmerBabe! I have a 95 and i tried to put 96/9 up side markers in it and the bulbs holder would not fit in the hole in the side marker itself. | | | 06-24-2005, 01:36 AM | #7 | Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Ontario, Canada Posts: 40 | My sidemarkers are for a 97, only the instructions are for a 96... | | | 06-24-2005, 03:01 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by BimmerBabe My sidemarkers are for a 97, only the instructions are for a 96... | Page 112 of my 98 owner's manual. I tried that earlier, but it wasn't coming off easily and I felt like I was gonna break something Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti Page 112 of my 98 owner's manual.
