Yes, it is a CS VIN #, or at least the VIN is between other CS. I've heard of demand for the CS parts, maybe someone sold or traded them? FunElan...do you also own a 2002? Just wondered.... vince | no club sportsness dude __________________ Vin Number decode and Retrofit Pdfs Available Free ! Wishing it was one of them? Because the VIN looks like it falls in the line of CS VINs. __________________ '96 318ti California Edition- Montreal blue '68 1600-2-Caribe blue | | | 08-01-2012, 11:19 PM | #1774 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Miami, FL Posts: 874 | Aww thought mine being a 95 sport it would have had a LSD guess not __________________ Mods: 325is zender spoiler, 3" carbon fiber antenna, 5% tints rear windows, black out grills, Fogged air intake, Ds1 wheels, Rokkor coilovers, bilstein rear shocks, blacked out tails and home made angel eyes | | | 08-01-2012, 11:20 PM | #1775 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Land of the Vikings Posts: 2,700 | yep, the build series number might have been different, but the vin may have been listed with the csīs. __________________ Vin Number decode and Retrofit Pdfs Available Free ! My 1600 vin is 1563167. __________________ '96 318ti California Edition- Montreal blue '68 1600-2-Caribe blue | | | 08-02-2012, 04:47 AM | #1778 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Plainfield Posts: 29 | Quote: Originally Posted by Mallard yep, the build series number might have been different, but the vin may have been listed with the csīs. | And this is what is so very, very interesting. Supposedly there were 300-400 CS built, maybe 5 without sunroofs. In my informal records mostly from watching this board, the lowest CS VIN is 53460, and the highest is 53731, so 271 CS are supposedly known to exist. If I'm wrong, correct me. And this is what's now funny, this car is a non-CS but within the regular CS VIN group. So how many other non-CS are in what is thought to be the VIN range of CS's? And, how many CS were really built? More info and discussion is certainly welcome! vince | | | 08-02-2012, 12:40 PM | #1779 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2012 Location: philadelphia Posts: 217 | vin for me, thanks in advance AS97818 | | | 08-03-2012, 03:28 PM | #1780 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Madison, Wisconsin Posts: 6 | Could you look up mine please? It has the red leather/cloth seats and M-Tech trim and mirrors. But I also have a sun roof. I can't imagine that I have one of 3!? Unfortunately the guy before me didn't take very good care of it | | | 08-24-2012, 03:18 AM | #1784 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Plainfield Posts: 29 | The VIN is within the range of other CS, so it should be a CS and it sounds like one. Having a sunroof is not the rare issue. Supposedly BMW decided early in the production run to make all the cars with sunroofs. So the ones with no sunroof are the rare ones, but how many were made without a sunroof is unknown. People talk of single digits, but I've never seen any confirmation. Sorry it wasn't taken care of that well, neither was the one I have. vince Big Rock, IL | | | 08-25-2012, 01:11 AM | #1785 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Madison, Wisconsin Posts: 6 | I don't know how I read about the sunroofs in two different places and misread it both times. :/ | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 21 (0 members and 21 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
