Default Car noise

Ok so my steering wheel doesn't lock up when the car is off and the noise that you get when you put the key in the ignition won't stop sounding what is wrong??

Steering wheel theft lock pin not engaging. Car thinks the key is still in the ignition. Try turning the wheel around with the key out. If no go you will need to lube the ignition lock with grafite (sp?), if that doesn't work then remove the column plastic and ignition lock and look for stuck damaged engaging steering wheel lock pin.

Only a guess. I had the same problem and fixed it with key lube. Don't use WD-40, get the right stuff

What to lube you key hole?

Buy key lube from auto parts store, it's powder graphite I think. Puff it in there. Then pump the key in and out a bunch of times like your key and lock cylinder are having sex. while doing this turn the steering wheel back and forth to see if the problem will fix itself

No how to remove the column plastic and ignition lock to look for stuck damaged engaging steering wheel lock pin.
