Got the needed parts for cooling overhaul except the radiator as it has been replaced the last year, while I'm doing the cooling system I'll replace the thermostat, valve cover gasket, spark plugs, and do some engine detailing.. Hope I'll be done with those this weekend! | | | 12-14-2012, 04:38 PM | #2783 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | Tryin to sell those door handles? __________________ Im guessing im the youngest member on here with a S52 power'ed Ti at 16 years old! | | | 12-17-2012, 01:15 AM | #2784 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | Found an x-brace in Dallas on a 328 convertible which was literally in line to go to the crusher. Waked up today, fresh snow on the ground, going up hill and stopped by a stop sign, getting my car into 1st and try to make it move but not a chance except after couple of minutes trying, didn't over rev the engine because I know it'll worsen things out so I've cuddled her till her bum started to have some grip! I have water in my trunk, both left and right side, anyone tried to drill small hole in the chassis to drain the water? was it effective ? planning to do so like to drill 5mm hole in both sides and then treated with rust inhibitor so it won't rust in the future? effective? or should I try another path? | | | 12-19-2012, 04:46 AM | #2788 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | Yesterday I checked the spark plugs, topped off power steering fluid and coolant, cleaned and recharged K&N air filter, then changed the oil. Today I cleaned the windows with Rain-X and steel wool and adjusted the sunroof. Tomorrow I am removing the drivers door panel in order to install new door speakers. Need new tint on the drivers window too...might do that soon. __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 12-19-2012, 05:21 AM | #2789 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2012 Location: Roseville, Minnesnowda Posts: 16 | Quote: Originally Posted by Michael_M 2 quick questions, Do you think LSD will be better for snow driving? real experience? May take a little longer with inhibitors but it will still rust eventually. LSD for snow? If you are going to spin one wheel, you will spin two. You may even have more sliding around side to side action going on. | | | 12-19-2012, 05:39 AM | #2790 | Member Join Date: Aug 2012 Location: Vancouver, BC Posts: 67 | But you'll get more traction because 2 tires spinning at the same time, I know it is risky as it'll go sideways but the open diff. ain't helping either as it will just transfer all the torque to the free wheel which even lower the traction farther in snowy/icey conditions, i know it won't be risky as the LSD but if you have a light foot on the gas you'll get away with it without issues! That's why I mentioned LSD, was wondering if someone who have a LSD and driving it in the snowy/icey condition and how they felt when changed from open to lsd in those terrible condition! | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
