Default 6 cylinder engines with vanos and OBDI?

Hello...

I've searched the forums but I didn't find the information I was looking for about BMW engines.
I have an M42 1995 ti wich is OBDI correct?
Wich 6 cylinder engines have vanos and are OBDI?
Does the 3.0 Euro M3 engine with 286 bhp have vanos? Is it obdI?

I hope you can help me out!
Thanks in advance...

Regards!

PS- The swap is starting to grow on me again...

>That is correct; however I believe the LATE 1995 models started to switch over to OBD-II. I also don't know if these rules hold true globally- you may have had OBD-I ECUs well after the US models switched to OBD-II...

Wich 6 cylinder engines have vanos and are OBDI?

>I believe (and anyone with more solid information feel free to chime in) all the Motorsport engines (us and European) had single vanos up through 1999/2000 when the new E46 engne (333 HP in the us) was released with dual-vanos

Does the 3.0 Euro M3 engine with 286 bhp have vanos? Is it obdI?

>See above; I believe they did have single vanos (intake cam only)

>Cool! If you can do it right, it is a very solid way to go.

I saw a few threads here about US swaps and the prices here in portugal are way less! I can get a complete M50 325i engine from 1993 by 1000 euros and it will only take me about 700 euros to have it installed by a mechanic. Way less than importing a dasc from the US or build up the M42 with german parts.
