Nice lol, I'm still debating with my self what way to go, I think for the time being ill just chop up what I got lol. Do you know what size reducer you used for the radiator temp probe?

Haha I'm still deciding what to do! erm this was where I got mine Link

I know the standard rad fitting is M14x1.5 so then what ever size the temp sensor is in my case the kit came with a 1/8 NPT sensor thread

I have the same kit to do away with viscous fan as it was on its way out, I'm using the stock rad for the time being. Cheers for the link

Ahh cool! no worries, yeah the 12" fan from mishimoto is pretty good to with that kit, it pushed quite a lot of air though I was quite surprised at how powerful it was lol

I think if you have the bigger rad that was on aircon cars (I think) you can use a 16" fan too ! but the non air con were smaller and I had to use a 12"

I have just put the 16" on fits just with about half inch from the water pump pulley.

Been really lazy lately and haven't even been up to the lockup
The car is all back together though, and all the little last bits are done the clutch is bled out and the Rad is bled ( I Think ) the rad was a nightmare to get all the air out the system!

I took the car for a little test drive down the road and was VERY surprised at the power I cant wait to have a proper go in it, I still only have half an exhaust haha so couldn't really drive it to far without waking the town up

It now has an MOT and Tax too ! and the exhaust is booked in for Monday 22nd June, I am literally not able to contain myself just want to drive it now haha


While I've been saving for the exhaust and tax etc I kept myself busy making some drift style gear sticks, I bought some cut bits of aluminium and tapered, Drilled and tapped them in my dads lathe. I made this one for my girlfriends Mx5 to start with:




Quite please how it came out, I'm now in the process of making one for mine but as you know the e36 has no thread so I've drilled the correct size hole in the bmw one and will be tapping a grub screw in the side to hold it on.

I posted on a couple of forums on facebook to see if anyone was interested in buying one if I made more and a few people really wanted one, So I set up my page to be able to sell some when I have made some more

They are crap to bleed I spent a good half a day on the weekend just gone trying to get the air out the coolant front jacked up and everything

That looks great in the mx-5. If only my NA interior looked half that good! Can't really expect it to, because it's been a track car since it was delivered from the dealer (in 1992!)...

Yeah I spent like a day doing mine but I think I need to do it again :/ my heaters are blowing out hot air now though and it doesn't go above the halfway mark on the temp gauge so phraps im just paranoid..
Also do you know if the rad hoses are meant to be quite pressurised?
mine got really hard and when I undone the rad cap it released the pressure and the pipes were pushable again not sure if its normal for it to get so pressurised

I'm quite pleased how it turned out haha that's a year younger than me! I bet its still in better condition than me though lol
I really don't like admitting it but I love driving the mx5 at the moment they are such a nice handling car, Just cant help but feel a little bit like a hair dresser when the roofs down haha

The cooling system is a high pressure low flow, normal cars like ford and that run low pressure high flow systems.

Give us a shout when you make one and I'll pass you some money over

Its really simple to bleed.. no hills just normal Level floor. The bleed screws are the highest points anyways.. cold engine, engine OFF, key in pos2 so the heater is going with full heat at the window. Open both bleed screws and start to fill water. You will we that air is coming out of both holes. Keep going til the lowest bleed screw is only letting water out, just pour and pour, will be som spilling.. then close the lowest and keep going tip the highest one is out of air and just water is coming out. Then close all and drive a little bit and check level.. done deal

I finally think it's bleed out it doesn't over heat after a little drive and the heaters get piping hot



I took it for a nice hack and it pulls and runs so well, it scared me a little the other day in the wet as it just couldn't stop spinning and wanting to be sideways haha but in the dry it grips well, down to cheap tyres I guess! In the video it has no exhaust back box haha but that is getting made next week and booked in with a local exhaust company

Without my car for another week whilst the exhaust is made I was tagged in these pictures though on Facebook by the company (Fast Road Conversions) they have already done my exhaust earlier than quoted, Amazing company and customer service, just cant pick it up until Friday because of work.

I put an old bumper on so that it can come out the back this time, As when it was facing down before it seemed to make it really noisy inside the car I think the sound was bouncing around underneath, Just going for a nice stainless tip out the back this time
