Default matching side skirts

ive seen tutorials on how to get your side skirts to match your car color. apparently, you take castrol super clean and just scrape off the grey paint, on under that lies the colored car paint.

well anyway...random questoin...but a few days ago i got hit...yay...second time in less than a year...i may get the area repainted...and if i did....could i get the side skirts painted at the same time? im asking basically if it is possible to just paint over the grey paint...or if you still have to remove it to paint it. i figured if part of my car was getting repainted anyway, i might as well just get the skirts painted to match.

might be a bit late, but i'm sure you can get it painted over, though that covering is kind of textured (to keep rocks from chipping it I think)... so it might not look that great.. you probably wanna get it all off then paint it if needed

yeah i figured itd be best to get all of it off first...but it turned out that my parents didnt think it was enough damage to worry about getting fixed (even though we didnt have to pay for it...?) so now i got some scratches on my bumper that shouldnt be there...grrr i hate people that cant drive!

Red face

Have you actually tried stripping the gray part of the side skirt?? Has anybody done this before?! I've heard about it, but never actually talked to somebody who done it. Please reply.
