So i decided to tighted the screw not a big deal i have done it before. So i take the first screw of the steering wheel with no problem. The second one was hard, i don't know how but i think i messed up the face of the screw. When i try to turn it doesn't hold onto the screw. So my question is how would i be able to take that out now? The ones you unscrew so you can take the airbag out. | | | 02-03-2008, 09:17 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | are you using a torx bit? i went and looked at it its a T27 torx head. EDIT: you are talking about the ones on the back of the wheel by the blinker cruise and wiper stocks right?? __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 02-03-2008, 10:05 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | So the head of the screw is rounded? Or the screw just spins without grabbing? Either way, I think an ez-out will work. In the future, use a torque wrench. There's a reason they exist. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 02-03-2008, 10:13 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | I have the screw drivers with the torx bit. i have taken it out before with no problem but today when i was unscrewing it, the face of the screw got worn.
