Default temp needle

I've read a lot of older threads, probably not all, in reference to the where the needle lines up. Most people have said dead middle. Mine has always been a hair to the right of middle since I bought it this summer. I did see one reference to the needle slightly to the right. Question is, is the needle a hair to the right an early indication of anything wrong, or is everything good to go. Entire cooling system, including the 2 plastics, has been replaced. Thanks for any thoughts.

I've replaced my entire cooling system and bled it many times and my needle is also slightly to the right. I've noticed that it will go to dead middle if I'm driving for more than an hour.

It has always bothered me but I have no signs of a HG problem and it never goes more than a hair to the right, I still watch it like a hawk though.

Great, more confirmation, thanks. Yeah, I've noticed, for 15+ years on Jeeps and 15 weeks on a TI, I'm always checking my gauges constantly. Good to know the slight right is OK.

You know you drive a Ti when you watch the temp gauge more than you watch the road.

Install an Engine Watchdog engine temperature monitoring system from Austrailian Signals and you won't have to watch the temperature guage ever again.

It's very cheap insurance against a blown headgasket or worse if you don't shut an overheating engine down in time. By the way, I've got the radio and cd changer installed. They both work great...thanks again.

Fan clutch was my issue. Mine was creeping a bit more in city driving but dead center on the hwy. Quick & easy repair to do...10-15 mins max. The shroud can be a bit tricky to maneuver but that's about it.

Ti's don't have a clutch fan. They only have an electric fan. Unless the electric fan has some sort of "clutch", could you please explain?

Yeah, US model 318ti's with M42/M44 engines don't have that. Do you have a I6 swap?

Can you please post pics of yours, I've never seen one installed on a 318ti.
