Does anyone know how to remove the shift boot? Mine is all dirty and a few holes have been poked into it. I was thinking of making a custom one but I need the old one for measurments. Thanks __________________ canadian_ti 1997 Acura CL | | | 05-14-2005, 08:36 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Tyler, TX Posts: 1,022 | just get a screwdriver and pry up. There are 4 clips on the sides. I wrapped the tip of the screwdriver in a rag so I didn't gouge the plastic. Anyways, only you pop the plastic frame out you just need to lift up and the frame and boot will come off. Then pull the old boot off the frame, then clean the frame so you have a clean surface to glue the new boot too. On a side note, if you aren't familiar with sowing then I wouldn't try this. I made a boot but it was a huge PITA. Good luck though. | | | 05-16-2005, 12:57 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | you don't need a screwdriver for this. just pull the material to the center and get your fingers in there. the entire frame will flex, allowing you to remove it. | | | 05-25-2005, 11:24 AM | #4 | Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Rimini, Italy (Europe) Posts: 73 | Hello, this is my shift boot, i have remake the 2 seams on motorsport colors... __________________ I'am italian! | | | 05-25-2005, 11:59 AM | #5 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | Prada ... fine italian craftsmanship! those look very nice __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 05-25-2005, 12:41 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Rimini, Italy (Europe) Posts: 73 | ohhhhh thanks, too much good!!!! goodbye. __________________ I'am italian! | | | 05-25-2005, 01:22 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Great White North! By the way, VITESSE TUNNG has NEW custom calfskin leather shift and e-brake boots. They are really soft and not expensive compared to the O.E. or MOMO. I had a set of MOMO boots and swapped them with a set from Vitesse Tuning. I chose the siver top stitch as it matches my grey and black interior. The quality in leather and fit is amazing. Check out the following links the pictures of the boots in my gallery: Shift boot, E-brake boot Cheers, __________________ Engine: 2.1L Hartge conversion (bored to 86X91mm, ported & polished head, new valves, new crank, & upgraded ECU), Supersprint SS headers, Hartge exhaust, custom cat bypass (track), KV85 wires, Bosch platinum plugs, Vitesse cf spark plug cover, Vitesse cf CAI, Samco hoses, Fiamm air horns.
