The quart containers are too small, I think. __________________ '95 330ti CS w/sr delete, S50USB30, cams, 24# inj, Conforti SW, Euro HFM, Samco Silicone Intake Boot, BBTB, Euro Oil Cooler, JTD CAI Duct, RE DMS exhaust, RE Tranny mounts, CF Valve Cover, LTW flywheel/Kevlar sprung hub clutch, RE SSK, 3.46 Finned LSD (M6) , M3 tranny, Brembos, RE Wheel Studs, SS brake/clutch lines, CF interior, Rear Headrest retrofit, Tilt Steering retrofit, 13.5 lb DynaBatt in rear, LED interior/footwell lights, ZKW HID, Headlight Aim Control, Rear fog light w/cluster indicator, CF 3 Aux gauge pod, BMW Traffic Pro/Alpine MP3-CD Changer, Staggered LTW wheels, '95 M3 steering rack, VIS CF Hood, M3 LTW Strut Bar, TCK SA coilovers, Red LTW Motorsport Seatbelts, OEM Fire Extinguisher, Z8 Starter button, Auto dim rear view mirror w/ Homelink/Compass, PDC, Rear Sun Shade, Euro Gauge Cluster w/oil temp/shift light , Headlight Washers, "Motorsport" Door Handles, CF Grills, French ZKW Fogs, Euro dash bins, Power Lumbar Support is next, Coming e39 M5 interior light, Bimmer Magazine 8/2007 | | | 03-12-2007, 06:15 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Somebody's been reading Ron Stygar's page. FYI, you can also find them at NAPA. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 03-13-2007, 05:52 AM | #4 | Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: SF Bay Area Posts: 33 | Yup, Ron's site and the knowledge base. I'm guessing it doesn't fit the 1qt bottle. | | | 03-13-2007, 06:44 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Qt bottle opening is like 1", sta-lube fits washer fluid, probably 1.5" __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 03-20-2007, 05:38 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | it works with the 1qts, doesn't go all the way to bottom but makes enough of a vaccum to crush the bottle as you pump. just filled the tranny with MT90 using one. def one of the must have tools in the shop(I have two) 1 for Diff Fluid, 1 for Trans fluid. | | | 03-20-2007, 05:42 AM | #7 | Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: SF Bay Area Posts: 33 | Quote: Originally Posted by Panzer_M it works with the 1qts, doesn't go all the way to bottom but makes enough of a vaccum to crush the bottle as you pump. just filled the tranny with MT90 using one. def one of the must have tools in the shop(I have two) 1 for Diff Fluid, 1 for Trans fluid. | How come MT90 and not D4 ATF? | | | 03-20-2007, 05:58 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | 8lb flywheel + MT90 = Dead Quiet/No chatter, No Ratter. Looks like some sort of pump is needed to get the new fluid into the filler hole. Where can I order these StaLube pumps, and are there any alernatives? Many thanks, __________________ 2000 316i SE Compact 1.9 | | | 03-28-2007, 08:23 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | walmarts carry them in the Auto. The Sta-Lube pumps are similar to those on industrial size ketchup containers, just black and clear. They also have a "grip" on the nozzle to keep it in the fill hole. Check your local auto parts store. They should have something. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 03-28-2007, 09:31 PM | #13 | Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Scotland Posts: 41 | thanks. I'd like to post a couple of photos of what I think are the gearbox drain and filler plugs. Would this thread be OK, or should I use a different forum? Thanks. __________________ 2000 316i SE Compact 1.9 | | | 03-28-2007, 11:39 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Google "Ron Stygar." He has pictures of both. Remember to use penetrating oil (NOT WD40) and to pull the FILL plug first, then the drain plug. You should warm up the car to get the fluids moving, but don't torque down the bolts until it has cooled to prevent stripping the threads. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 03-29-2007, 08:19 PM | #15 | Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Scotland Posts: 41 | Thanks for that. __________________ 2000 316i SE Compact 1.9 | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
