Default May the fun begin...

Picked up a '99 328is yesterday. It was "drifted" into a tree, at least one tree. It has a lot of really nice pieces but the wheels had me laughing. (TRX's)

I've removed a few engines over the years, parting out E28s, but I didn't have to put everything back in the right place! I have J!m's Guide so I think I'm prepared for the fun ahead.

I'll do my best to document everything here and include as many photos as I can. Maybe something I post will help the next person doing a swap to repay what I've learned here. Or at least help see what I did wrong.

I'll use everything I can from the donor 328is and go from there. I'm just concentrating on getting the engine swapped out and running first. And luckily this isn't my only car because I'm slow as Christmas.

Spent yesterday trying to stay dry. Saturday's high was 101 and Sunday the high temp was 82 so not complaining about the wet weather. It was just a bit cramped in the garage.

As usual, it took longer figuring out what we were doing than actually doing it.

Couldn't get one of the guibo bolts so I opted to just pull the front half of the driveshaft with the tranny. Probably not the smart thing to do but you deal with the situation as it happens. That's my buddy PK helping me out.

I see a lot of cleaning in my future.
