Cool Wiper Problems (already searched site)

I'm having some trouble with my front wipers.

Anyway, the wipers, sometimes when they are off, or down in the intermitent mode, there is a loud click behind the glove box and the wipers move slightly from the park position. Not sure if anybody else has had this problem?

I have already tightened the wiper arms, that was not the problem.

I'm hoping I don't need a new wiper motor?

I've searched a bunch of posts and am thinking I should start with replacing the wiper washer control unit (behind the glove box). Can anybody tell me if they agree/disagree with this possible solution?

btw - I have a 1997 318Ti with 206,000 miles. I use this site A LOT more than I post, because mostly I can just find the answer, without posting. For this problem I'm a little confused.

Thanks!
Ken

It sounds like the wiper control module is going.
