He is going to buy a MIG welder to keep the bondo to a mininmum so Ive decided to experiment on my ti. I kinda like the look of a boser hood and since all the metal on the front of my car is going to be replaced Im going to fabricate my own boser look on the ti. Im going to try to do this without actually welding any metal to the hood. Ive decided to weld the extentions to the metal around the grills and then bolt the tops of the extentions to the metal above the headlight brackets. If I go ahead and do this Ill post pics, but dose anyone here see any holes in my plan already? __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 01-02-2007, 06:41 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Seems like it would work but I don't think you'll get the look you're going for. I've seen the ones the kids in Deutschland do, and really like the not-too aggressive ones. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 01-02-2007, 04:08 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Bolton, MA Posts: 79 | does anyone have pics of what this might look like? I want to weld the extentions to the metal around the grills not to the hood. Im doing it on metal that already needs to be replaced so if I dont like it it will be replaced and if I do then I will redo it. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 01-02-2007, 11:51 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | If you have the DOT headlights, you might have to grind down one of the nubs. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 01-03-2007, 12:15 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bath NY Posts: 120 | that is so ugly ! | | | 01-03-2007, 12:49 AM | #7 | doesn't care about you. Besides being different. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 01-03-2007, 01:04 AM | #8 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Quote: Originally Posted by DustenT So....you block the headlights? I remember youd say sh!t about my car but if anything its turning out that your more "ricey" than me. You used to say my car was a lot of ricer, seriously man, stare at that hood 1 more time, and tell me whos ricer now. | | | 01-03-2007, 10:07 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Portland Oregon Posts: 1,363 | angle 318ti has a hood like that, and my buddy mark from bend is planning on doing this or something like it soon. | | | 01-03-2007, 01:15 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | Angel's hood is the sh!t. The other one is too aggressive, but still very unique and bad ass. I want to do this mod, but more like Angel's hood. They sell kits on the German Ebay site. I say do it!!!! __________________ | | | 01-03-2007, 01:37 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Great White North! I want to do it like the tis in the pics you guys posted did it. And Hugo, dont be an ass. To everyone who dosnt like it dont worry, it wont be on there for long. If you would have read my first post I said that the metal is ruined so Im just experimenting. When I it fixed Im going to take them off. This is just an experiment that possibly will help someone else who wants to do the same thing. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
