Default new daily driver

To keep the miles and wear and tear off of my Ti.

And I am about to be seduced by the Boost side of the force.

It's a Saab 900 SE Turbo. In the prerequisite black. Made in 1994, it only has 98,000 miles on it with a rebuilt Turbo.

And of course, the best part of the package.. the 2.0 Four with the Turbo. Cranking out all of 185hp.. but is easily upgraded!

And the best part.. I picked her up for $800. Needs a corner/turnsignal and a mirror due to kids vandalizing the car. It also needs new shocks, brakes, and I think the shift rod is bent as you cannot engage reverse. I will not know more until I get the car home and get under it.

Nice Saab! I have a few friends who have Saabs, one has a 900 CE (Commemorative Edition, one of about 325) and one has a Viggen. Dont be pulled away by the Saab side! Those cars are amazingly quick, that Viggen pulls FOREVER in 3rd.

Great car. I was never a fan of the steering wheel though, couldn't palm it through turns.

But at the price you got it, not really an issue.

do not worry. I am not going anywhere. The Ti is going to remain a daily (sharing duties with the saab) but is going to get a little more hardcore in anticipation of open track days at the new track they build here in Millville NJ. I may have to look into a rollhoop for her

Had a 9000 turbo, tinkered with it, and it was stupidly rapid, kept up with my mates cosworth

Just need to get her legal first. I think I tracked down the shift problem to the bushings. Supposedly the early GM 900s had some issues with the shift linkage and there was a recall on them for it... dealing with reverse believe it or not.

Other plans just call for it to be a comfy and quick highway and commuter car. Koni adjustables with lowering springs, some braces, and a thicker rear roll bar and some nicer rims.. the rest will just be updating and cleaning the interior and exterior.

Eventually I might get around to a downpipe, catback, intake, and a remap for 240hp

You should get the existing rims chromed. And engrave some skulls on them. LOL

Nah, he should chrome a real skull. There are surely plenty to be found in Jersey if you have the right "connections." ;-)

well, I picked up my Saab yesterday. Needs brakes and a battery, but that is all it really needs now that I have replaced the mirror and turnsignal/corner light.

Totally different car from the Ti. Much faster (2 seconds faster to 60mph) and a VERY smooth highway car that still manages to handle well. However, I definatly will not be getting rid of the Ti for it. For most things I prefer my Ti's more Raw feel. Definatly more control going down the road and rear wheel drive is a must for fun.. but at least my G/F likes the saab and will probably not need a sports bra to ride in it like she does in the stiffly sprung Ti
