Default S54 engine and 6-speed tranny into ti

how hard of a swap would this be...i want to do it regardless...i just want to get an idea of what i will be getting myself into...my major questions are about the oil pan...is the clearance the same as that of the older S50s and S52s...another one of my questions entails hood clearance..another of my questions is about the transmission...well i kinda have a couple questions about the transmission portion of the swap...one is about the E46 rear diff is it easily mounted within the TI...and if i am able to put the E46 rear diff in the TI are the half-shafts longer than the ones needed for the TI...another is the drive shaft...is it slightly longer and if it is are the E36 M3 drive shafts compatible with the E46 transmission...and finally does the shifter match up within the center consul...i also realize that i would have to switch out the entire wiring harness, ecu, ews, dme, tachometer, and possibly even the steering column...anything you guys can say about would be very helpful as i am not an expert and do know that

I don't think the E46 diff will work, you will need a medium case diff from an E30 along with the E30 half shafts. I think you would need a custom drive shaft too, but I'm not totally sure.

Just go with an E30 525 diff, it'll be plenty strong

E30 is a 3-series, you must mean either a E28 or E34

You're right. I still don't know the denotations well enough, but had I read my sig, I would have realized it's an E28
