I have a K&N 9" cone filter on my 97 318Ti that I ordered from BMP. The insructions for the air breather say to attach it to the secondary air pump hose. The breather end is smaller than the hose. My question is can I remove the Secondary air pump and all it connections and place the air breather at the check valve to exhaust manifold hose and line?

That doesn't sound right...
I think you might need an adapter. I had to shell out an extra $65 for a billet adapter to connect my flow meter to the new 9" filter.
AJUSA has them, I believe.
