Check that it does not have any rips in it. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 01-05-2009, 07:03 PM | #3 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! By the way, holding the throttle down on start-up will not help you start the car... | | | 01-05-2009, 10:54 PM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: uk Posts: 12 | i have checked the intake boot all looks good no rips or cracks. checked the pipes around it. gearbox and engine all fuel filter air/oil filter changed 2 months ago runs a bit better wont start in the cold properly i have scanned with code reader and am getting codes for the DME "175 differential intake manifold control circuit electrical" "52 misfire" "62 cylinder 3 misfire" and codes "100 gear monitoring" from the transmission control module i have replaced ignition coil pack and leads, plugs checked the idle control valve replaced crankcase vent valve the misfiring happens when you start the car in the cold after about 8-10 hours it will tick over but takes for ever to start after it warms up it runs better and idles ok has any one come across this before. | | | 01-05-2009, 11:04 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: uk Posts: 12 | also changed the engine coolant temp sensor on the side of the engine block | | | 01-06-2009, 04:53 PM | #6 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Check the www.realoem.com for all the sensors on the intake manifold, or call the dealer service center with the code and ask them. (it helps if you order the part from them too...) If you have the (known good_ parts to swap in, it is worth a try I suppose... | | | 01-08-2009, 06:40 PM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: providence ri Posts: 15 | i have this same damn problem with mine. i haven't quite figured it out yet either. | | | 01-08-2009, 07:00 PM | #11 | Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: New York Posts: 70 | kinda sounds like a cam shaft position sensor... | | | 01-08-2009, 07:07 PM | #12 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: providence ri Posts: 15 | thats what ive heard, but it could also be the plugs and wires. there rated from the factory for 50k miles, and mine has a hair over 60 on it. could be time to change em'. lol | | | 01-08-2009, 07:34 PM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: uk Posts: 12 | Camshaft sensor is new only fitted 1month ago coil pack and leads are new too replaced them 6 months ago still got the same problem but now its even worse im going to have a independant bmw specialist look at it tomorrow hopefully they can figure it out ill keep you informed | | | 01-08-2009, 07:36 PM | #14 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: uk Posts: 12 | i think it may be the crank position sensor that is bad will replace this tommorow too | | | 01-15-2009, 02:33 AM | #15 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Orange County, CA Posts: 11 | Did it work? | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
