Default Factory Fog Light Switch

I would like to wire up some fog lights in my 318ti, and I would like my installation use the OEM buttons, but I do not want to pay for the whole factory retrofit kit.

From my understanding, the fog light switch is supposed to be on the right side of the dash, kinda opposite the headlight switch

Does anyone know if the switch is sold separately from the retrofit kit? Or what the part number is? I have been searching all over www.realoem.com and have not found anything that looks right.

I did the same thing awhile back. I found the switch for $10 on ebay. You also may be able to get one from a partout on here.

there was another member here who used the factory fog lights and switch with an aftermarket wiring kit, funny though, I can't find the part number either

Thanks a bunch!

If anyone else is wondering, this is why the part numbers are tricky to find:

"Foglamp Switch Covering" - 61318360433
It is listed in RealOEM, but it is not pictured.

"Button" (The knob) - 61318365829
Also listed in RealOEM, but not pictured for the foglights. Apparently both the headlight and foglight controls use the same knob.

"Light Switch" - 61318353504
PelicanParts calls this "Push/Pull Head Light Switch, BMW E36 318ti (with fog lights) " They make it sound like it is some sort of switch that replaces your headlight switch. That is incorrect.

61318353504 is a two position fog light switch that goes on the right.

61318353508 is the three position switch that goes on the left for high and low beams.

Right now it looks like the premium OEM lights are $70 shipped from DDM, and $70 shipped for the switches and buttons new from PelicanParts, for $140 total.

The complete kit (63171469706) from PelicanParts is about $220 shipped, and they come with the bulbs, wire, and connectors.

I will have to think about which route I want to go.

Run those part numbers through getBMWparts.com, I just put the "kit" part# in and it came to $160 w/o shipping.

Tischer (getBMWparts.com) got back to me today and told me that the foglight kit is not available and is no longer being produced.

I guess I will just end up ordering the individual parts.

Does anyone have this kit?

63171469706

I know it's been discontinued, but if anyone got it in the past and still has the directions it came with, I'd love to get my hands on them. (I'd even be willing to pay) I think I've got just about all of the parts, but I would like a more formal write up on the install.. I'm thinking the one's that came with the kit if possible.

Pictures would be greatly appreciated if available. Thanks so much.
